Dr. Drew Hall Los Angeles Chiropractor Specializing In The Upper Cervical Spine And Chronic Conditions
Dr. Hall is a Los Angeles Based Chiropractor who has been in practice for 16 years. He specializes in the Blair Upper Cervical Chiropractic Technique as a result of his own recovery from chronic health problems 23 years ago. Dr. Hall suffered with chronic fatigue, muscle pains, chronic headaches, cognitive fog, nausea, insomnia, and TMJ for 2.5 years following a wrestling accident where he was dropped upside down on his head. After searching for answers in 5 different Medical offices and countless tests, such as MRI’s, Blood Work, CAT scans, he was told there was nothing wrong and nothing that could be done. Eventually, he found himself in Dr. Tom Forest’s office in Pleasanton, CA. Dr. Forest precisely corrected his atlas(c-1) and axis(c-2). The Blair Upper Cervical Procedure changed his life and allowed him to heal and recover his health. In this article, we would like to discuss what Upper Cervical Blair Chiropractic is and how this unique procedure is changing the lives of hundreds of patients with chronic health problems right here in Los Angeles.
Philosophy Of Los Angeles Chiropractic Office | Where Does Healing Come From?
In our office, we believe that healing is something that happens from the inside out. WE believe that health and disease are caused inside of the body and, therefore, its cure must be inside also. Inherent within all of us is an inner wisdom which in chiropractic is termed INNATE INTELLIGENCE . When we sleep, this inner wisdom keeps us functioning. When we break a bone, cut our skin, or have a surgery, who or what is it that repairs the damaged tissue? Healing is something that the body is always continually doing. It is always striving to keep us in the best working order possible.
If we have chronic degenerative health problems, it is not caused by a lack of pharmaceutical medication. We do realize that many drugs can be life saving. And at times, they are a temporary aid in acute crisis to buy time for a real health solution. With that said, medications are NOT health care. They are disease and crisis management. Our current mainstream system of health care is NOT health care. It is disease care. In our office, we are interested in educating our patients on sound health philosophy so that when they have health challenges, they can know where to seek health. And our larger message is that once health is attained, the best way to keep it is to continue to do the things in your life that promote it: sound nutrition, exercise, and keeping your nervous system free of interference.
Why Is The Upper Neck Special?
The Upper Neck is structurally the weakest link in the spine. The skull weighs on average 10-12 pounds and rests on the atlas that weighs 2 ounces. This junction, called the craniocervical junction (CCJ), is structurally the weakest area of the spine. Unfortunately, where our spine is the weakest it is neurologically the most important. The brain-stem is housed by the lower skull, the atlas(c-1), and the axis(c-2). The brain-stem is the seat of control for the majority of the body’s function. Because this junction is structurally weak, it is susceptible to injury. Traumas such as car accidents, sports injuries, and other injuries can cause structural misalignment to the upper neck. When it is injured, it can cause far reaching effects throughout the body and set the stage for chronic degenerative health problems.(1)
What Does A Blair Upper Cervical Chiropractor Do?
Blair Upper Cervical is a unique chiropractic procedure that involves no cracking, twisting or pulling in its correction. A Blair Doctor takes specialized articular(joint) x-rays to determine how the atlas or axis has misaligned and how the joint angles are built. Because the joints in the body are mirror images, special x-ray views that look at the outer margins of the joints between the skull and atlas(c-1) can allow the doctor to see the misalignment. The precision of knowing how much it has misaligned and how the joint is angled allows for a gentle and precise correction to restore normal joint motion and better nervous system function.
Once a correction is made, the goal is for the vertebrae to stay in its normal range of motion for as long as possible. Objective tests are used to monitor the patient to determine whether a correction is necessary or not. The goal of Blair Upper Cervical Care is to maintain the correction so the central nervous system can heal and repair from the damage done due to the spinal misalignment and subsequent irritation to the central nervous system.
Our office routinely sees patients with Meniere’s Disease, Fibromyalgia, Migraine Headaches, Post Concussion Syndrome, Neck Pain, Sciatica, Autoimmune conditions and other chronic health conditions that have not responded to traditional health care. We hope that this information gets into the eyes of those who are suffering and looking for alternative ways to heal their bodies and regain their health.
