fibromyalgia
upper neck injury. In the middle of this article we embedded a 5 minute video which overviews the upper cervical spine's role in causing and treating fibromyalgia syndrome. In our Los Angeles offices we have seen over 8500 patients with various health conditions. Fibromyalgia is a common condition we see and have found upper cervical care to be very successful in helping these patients recover their health. Upper Cervical Practitioners hypothesize based on their success in addressing fibromylagia, that the misalignment of C-1 (atlas) is blocking the communication various parts of the body and thereby affecting the body's own ability to correct the problem.

The Upper Neck Is Vulnerable To Injury

The upper neck is a vulnerable junction of the spine because the bio-mechanical relationship. The head weighs 10-12 pounds and rests on a two ounce bone called the atlas. In the following video Dr Hall discusses this anatomical consideration and how it can impact the central nervous system causing chronic health problems. Have a listen to this short video discussing fibromyalgia and Upper Cervical Care:

The Goal Of Upper Cervical Care

The goal of upper cervical care is to correct atlas and axis misalignments. Upper cervical doctors run objective neurological test to determine whether or not a person has an upper neck misalignment. Once located precise x-rays are taken to determine direction of the misalignment and the angle of the joints that are involved. This information is then used to make precise correction to the atlas or axis. Once corrected the patient is monitored over time to make sure they are maintaining the correction. If the correction has misaligned again another correction is made. If the tests indicate it is in alignment no correction is made on that visit. While the correction is maintained is when healing accrues. We hope that his blog has been helpful and informative and leads those who suffer in the direction of healing!
