Erectile Dysfunction Treatment Los Angeles | Blair Upper Cervical Chiropractor Los Angeles | Erectile Dysfunction Doctor Los Angeles
After practicing Blair Upper Cervical Chiropractic for the past 16 years and seeing over 9000 patients, every condition has walked through our doors. Erectile dysfunction and sexual dysfunction, in general, is not easily talked about.
As a result, most patients do not tell their upper cervical doctor that they have this problem until it makes progress. Over the years our office has seen many male and female patients recover their sexual function. In our society the subject is taboo.
It is unfortunate because millions suffer and there are not too many things in the mainstream medicine cabinet that work........unless you think viagra is a solution. Recently our office had young male start care. he was suffering from multiple health issues, neck pain, insomnia, low energy, severe low back pain, and sexual dysfunction.
When you are 28 the last thing you want to have happened is lost libido and erectile dysfunction. But it happens. And it happens to more people than most people realize. He sought care in our office to see if there was a relationship between is severe back pain and ED.
Before coming to the office he read on the internet that many people that have severe back problems also suffer from ED.
Neurologically speaking this makes sense. The low back nerves that exit the lumbar and sacral spine do play a role in sex function. In fact, in chiropractic school, they term the nerves down there "shoot and point!". Well, this gentleman sought care. He had his upper neck vertebrae x-rayed and then corrected.
One week later he came to the office in a state of elation. His burden had been removed. his low back pain cleared and his function returned. This may seem like far-fetched but once the underlying neurology is understood it makes perfect sense. Below we will explain how an upper neck correction can have far-reaching effects on your body's function.
The Brain-Stem Controls Postural Muscle Tone | Tight Sacral Muscles Can Entrap Nerves That Control Sexual Function
It is well-known in the scientific literature that the S-2 through S-4 sacral nerve roots control sexual function. The sacrum is the hard bone that sits between both hip bones. It has holes or foramen where the spinal nerves exit to supply their destination with proper neurological function.
Overlying these nerves are a muscle group known as the spinal erector muscles. If these muscles become tight they can entrap the S-2 through S-4 nerve roots. It is not uncommon to see sexual dysfunction associated with low back pain for this reason.
The Upper Cervical Spine houses the brain-stem and it is responsible for postural muscle tone. Injuries to the upper neck can have a global impact on posture muscle tone control and body function. (fig.1) Upper neck injuries can be one underlying CAUSE for erectile and sexual dysfunction.
There are many case reports of patients recovering sexual function following upper Cervical Chiropractic care.
How Can A Neck Injury Cause Erectile Dysfunction and Sexual Dysfunction?
Upper Cervical Doctors are trained to find upper neck spinal misalignments that interfere with normal neurological function. Objective tests are run to determine whether or not you have a spinal misalignment. I found a precise set of x-rays are taken to determine exactly what direction and how far you have misaligned.
Once ascertained the data is used in a precise spinal correction to the offending vertebrae. Once the irritation is removed from the brain-stem the body goes through a healing process.
We explained above how upper neck injury can cause sexual dysfunction. In many cases, by correcting the atlas (c-1) misalignment the underlying cause is removed and normal function follows.
Upper Cervical practitioners hypothesize based on their success in addressing many health conditions that the misalignment of the atlas is blocking communication to various parts of the body and thereby affecting the body’s own ability to correct the problem.
Over time an upper cervical doctor will monitor your case with objective tests to determine if and when you need a correction. The goal of upper cervical care is to “hold” the correction for as long as possible. It is while the vertebrae stay” clear” of the spinal cord that healing accrues.
If you or a loved one suffers from sexual dysfunction or other chronic health troubles it would be wise to get checked to see if you can be helped with this cutting edge procedure.
