Can Asthma Be Caused By The Neck?

Dr. Blair's Recovery From Asthma | Upper Cervical Chiropractic Can Improve Asthma ! | Asthma Doctor Los Angeles

Dr. Blair suffered with severe asthma as a teenager. In fact he was told that he would not survive to the age of 30. His asthma was so severe that he had extensive scarring develop in both lungs. His future looked bleak.   After seeking numerous doctors to help him with his asthma condition he eventually happened upon an upper cervical chiropractor.  The chiropractor was a graduate from Palmer college. He corrected Dr. Blair's atlas vertebra and almost immediately Dr. Blair's asthma symptoms improved.  He improved so much that within six months he decided that chiropractic was a profession that had chosen him. He enrolled at Palmer College where his health continued to improve. Eventually he graduated chiropractic college and set up a practice in Lubbock Texas. It was in Lubbock we Dr. Blair developed the Blair Upper Cervical X-ray series that Blair Doctors use across the nation today.  If it were not for his recovery from asthma the Blair Technique would not exist today. Many of us owe Dr. Blair a great depth of gratitude for his expertise and development of the technique has allowed thousands to recover from conditions such as fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, asthma, insomnia and more.

This article is dedicated to OUR founder.  Dr. Blair's technique has given thousands their lives back. His dedication and analytical expertise developed what many believe to be the most accurate system to analyse the upper cervical subluxation complex. In this article we would like to discuss ASTHMA. Dr. Blair's life was altered as the result of an upper cervical spinal correction which allowed him to live a life that would not have been possible without upper cervical chiropractic care.

How Can Asthma Be Helped With Blair Upper Cervical Care?

It is well known that the respiratory center is located in the brain stem.  The brain stem is an extension of the brain that is housed by the upper two bones in the neck.  The brain-stem is not only the seat of control for the lungs but also controls heart function, blood pressure regulation, thermo-regulation, postural muscle tone and more.  Injuries to the upper cervical spine can have devastating effects on brain-stem function (1).  There are several published studies that indicate correcting the spine can help asthma patients recover their health. Upper Cervical Spine injuries are numerous throughout childhood and adult life. It is difficult to find a person that has not been in  whiplash accident or a kid that has had a sports injury, fall, or head injury. Life is full of trauma. The head weighs 10-12 pounds the atlas (c-1) weighs 2 ounces. The head is balanced on the atlas on the end of a "stick" your neck.  These three factors make this anatomical region unstable. Trauma can cause spinal misalignment at the skull c-1 junction.  Over time this spinal misalignment affects normal neurological function and can impact the lungs, muscles, and other centers of the body.  Asthma is but one condition that responds well to Blair Upper Cervical Care.
